LABOR DAY WEEKEND ON GRAND LAKE
MidAmerica Outdoors and the city of Grove, Oklahoma are proud to announce Boats, Beats & BBQ for Labor Day Weekend on Grand Lake. The event will feature Formula 1 Powerboat Championship Tour racing, high-energy music performances, and a BBQ cook-off in partnership with the Kansas City Barbecue Society and the Oklahoma BBQ Society.
Boats, Beats & BBQ promises to be a thrilling event, with Formula 1 Powerboat racing providing high-speed entertainment as drivers race at over 100 mph and make 180-degree turns while pulling up to 7Gs. In addition, attendees can enjoy live music from regional and national artists, with performances taking place on the shores of the lake or from their boats. The event also features a BBQ cook-off, with the Oklahoma BBQ Society competing for $20,000 in prizes, including a people’s choice award.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST
It’s Food Truck Friday in Grove! Head downtown to enjoy our local vendors & businesses, and we’ll also have the Formula 1 Powerboat lineup displayed for a meet & greet with these exciting athletes and machines.
The AC/DC tribute band Back in Black will bring another level of entertainment to an already popular and fun evening out in Grove! Live music and the Formula1 Powerboat display will be from 6pm-9pm.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND – ROCK NIGHT
Enjoy watching the races on the water and live music all afternoon!
- 8am-2pm: Formula 1 Powerboat Races
- 12pm-1pm: Kansas City BBQ Society Official Backyard Competition Turn-In Times
- 1pm-3pm: People’s Choice Blind Taste Testing at main serving area (pulled pork)
- 2pm-7:45pm: Live Music on the water!
- 3pm-4:15pm: Dead Metal Society
- 4:45pm-6pm: Don Felder
- 6:30pm-7:45pm: Bret Michaels
No boat? No problem! There is ample parking available at Wolf Creek Park, and the stage area is visible from the lake shore – or of course, bring a raft and jump in for the full water festival experience!
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD – COUNTRY NIGHT
Sunday will feature the People’s Choice BBQ Tasting Competition, so bring your appetite and see what these awesome teams cook up for us!

- 12pm-2pm: People’s Choice competition (outlaw style – chef’s choice dish) tasting at competitor tents, vote at main serving area
